Review 2021 and 2022 Outlook for my Fine Art

2021 in Review and 2022 Looking Ahead

Here it is again, another year almost in the Rear View Mirror.

As the year progressed I was delighted to see the views here increase and as happy to see many new visitors to my Art Site. This year was similar to last year in that we got out less, we shopped online more, a big help for some of us in the art world, we met with family less but we are perhaps coming to grips with that sort of lifestyle even though we long to get back to the good ole' days, and we will, we are.

I also want to ask for your help in achieving my goals here, for your benefit, such as adding what you want to see here. Adding comments below always help me update or make changes that address your concerns. While I cannot add or change all of your requests, I will promise to make every effort to consider all that come to me as this new year brings.

In addition if you wish to see any new photography shoots at area locations that are special to you, let me know. As I set my travel itinerary for 2022, I will see if your request fits my itinerary.

As usual since your plans are slowed down some, don't let this Christmas or New Years drift away before reaching out in anyway you can to those family members who are perhaps not available to visit. They may be relying on you more than ever this year.

Do visit my website if even only for viewing, though a sale is welcome, just to break away from all the social flutter we seem to have gotten ourselves into.

Merry Christmas 2021 and Happy New Year 2022

Celebrate Indigineous People's Day Today

Columbus Day is now officially: Indigenous People's Day

                What is Indigenous Peoples' Day?

Indigenous Peoples' Day advocates say the recognition helps correct a "whitewashed" American history that has glorified Europeans like Italian explorer Christopher Columbus who have committed violence against Indigenous communities. Native Americans have long criticized the inaccuracies and harmful narratives of Columbus' legacy that credited him with his "discovery" of the Americas when Indigenous people were there first.

"It is difficult to grapple with the complete accomplishments of individuals and also the costs of what those accomplishments came at," said Mandy Van Heuvelen, the cultural interpreter coordinator at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.

There are no set rules on how one should appreciate the day, said Van Heuvelen, a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe from South Dakota. It's all about reflection, recognition, celebration and an education.

"It can be a day of reflection of our history in the United States, the role Native people have played in it, the impacts that history has had on native people and communities, and also a day to gain some understanding of the diversity of Indigenous peoples," she said.

So let's celebrate the Native American tribes that were here long before the Italian Christopher Columbus arrived. In honor of that I would like to direct you to view one of my photos

Chicken of the Woods Foraging

Now's the Time for Foraging in the Woods for Chicken of the Woods

Mushrooms on a Log II

Here are images of Chicken of the Woods

If you're going into the woods this Spring, look for dead or fallen logs to find these mushrooms, which experienced foragers eat as a substitute for meat. Read this:

https://www.ediblewildfood.com/chicken-of-the-woods.aspx and scroll down to Edibility foir eating only the best part of this fungi and as the caution on this page mentions:

Do not eat any fungi that has not been properly identified by a qualified professional, some are DEADLY when ingested. All edible wild fungi MUST be cooked.

Caution: Do not consume any chicken of the woods unless you harvested it from a deciduous tree. Those growing on yews, conifers or eucalyptus may absorb some of their oils which can cause serious distress.

Boat Dock in a Haunting Fog

Make this Your New Print Today

I arrived at this lake, early on a chilly morning. No one could be found. It was hauntingly quiet. I saw only a single Raven glide by yielding its typical raspy caw or croak and some refer to it. Looking for its first carrion morsel no doubt. It landed on the old green tin roof of the small dock. By the time I had sat up my Canon and then Manfrotto tripod, I spotted a second one and it had taken up its perch hoping a second pair of eyes might spot a floating fish to grab for itself, unlikely planning to share with its competitor.

Or perhaps you see this as a very quiet and pleasant foggy morning. Your choice

Now You can Own Bitcoin for only

But you can purchase this Bitcoin print at only $53

Rich Collins Photography

Bitcoin Print

If you've found yourself vacillating between a sudden elation one day to a dramatic panic the next over your investments lately, stop doing that. There's never been a 15 year period while invested in the S&P500 that shows a major loss. So staying in it for the long haul is your best option, unless you are nearing end of life. At that point it becomes either your philanthropic concerns or your heir's concerns unless you are living off your investments and won't have enough time to recover.

Either way I am about to settle your nerves. Linking through to my site you will find a memorable image to purchase of the Bitcoin above which is for all intents and purposes on fire. Hang this, as a lesson learned when it comes to investing. Though things may seem to be dying right in front of your eyes, if you hang onto long enough it (the S&P500 i.e.) will bounce back. And this print will never lose value. In a year or two you'll look back on it as a comfort for not selling at a low, then not being able to buy back in at the right time.

Use this print as a way on tempering yourself from making a financial mistake in the market.
