Art Collectors....if You're looking for new art on paper or other media, Allow Yourself 10 minutes Here

If you're an Art Collector, and you've already spent a lot on famous name art, it's about time you took a look at my photographic collection

I will say upfront that without name recognition, the likes of whom you are used to, that doesn't mean my work doesn't reflect pieces which will turn your eye. I have spent countless hours as do most top rated artists, painters or photographers alike, in creating an image from a photo, to turn out as showy, energetic or calming as I wish it to be.

Without wasting any of your time, I will direct you to my website at Pixels, called

Which of the Following 10 Reasons are you adding Art to your Home or Office?

We all add art to our homes and office's. The question is, for what reasons are you adding art? Of the following 10 reasons, which are your top 2 or 3?

1. Personal Taste and Style

  • Aesthetic Appeal: People often buy wall art that resonates with their personal style, preferences, and emotional response to the artwork. If a piece aligns with their tastes (colors, themes, artistic style), they are more likely to make a purchase.
  • Emotional Connection: Some people feel a strong emotional connection to a piece of art. It may evoke a specific memory, mood, or sentiment that motivates the purchase.

2. Home Decor

  • Complementing Existing Decor: Many buyers look for wall art that complements their existing interior design, whether it’s modern, traditional, minimalist, or eclectic.
  • Color Coordination: Buyers may choose art that matches or enhances the color scheme of their rooms, such as neutral tones for a calming space or vibrant art to create a focal point.

3. Investment and Prestige

  • Art as an Investment: Some people buy art as an investment, expecting that its value will appreciate over time. For these buyers, the artist's reputation and the rarity of the piece may be critical factors.
  • Status Symbol: High-end art can be seen as a status symbol, and buyers may purchase certain pieces to enhance their social image or show cultural sophistication.

4. Connection to the Artist or Movement

  • Admiration for the Artist: People sometimes buy art because they admire the artist or identify with their creative vision, social commentary, or the movement the artist represents.
  • Support for Local or Emerging Artists: Some buyers want to support emerging or local artists, making purchases as a form of encouragement or to feel part of a particular artistic community.

5. Cultural and Personal Identity

  • Cultural Expression: Art can be a way for people to express their cultural background or heritage, allowing them to display pieces that reflect their identity.
  • Personal Themes: Some art buyers are drawn to pieces that reflect their personal experiences, hobbies, or values, such as landscapes that remind them of their hometown or abstract art that speaks to their worldview.

6. Gift-Giving

  • Unique Gifts: Wall art is often purchased as a unique and personalized gift for others, especially for occasions like housewarmings, weddings, or anniversaries.

7. Trends and Social Influence

  • Social Media Influence: Instagram, Pinterest, and other visual platforms can influence purchasing decisions by showcasing art in beautiful home settings or through popular influencers.
  • Current Design Trends: People may also be inspired by popular design trends, such as minimalist art, boho-style decor, or abstract pieces, leading them to buy art that aligns with current tastes.

8. Customization and Personalization

  • Commissioned Art: Some buyers want custom pieces that are tailored to their specific space, taste, or even personal story. The appeal of having a one-of-a-kind artwork is a strong motivator.

9. Availability and Affordability

  • Price Range: Price plays a significant role in decision-making. Affordable art that looks good can appeal to people looking for budget-friendly decor, while high-priced pieces appeal to collectors or those who value exclusive work.
  • Accessibility: The availability of art through online marketplaces, galleries, or local fairs can also influence purchases, as convenience can make it easier for people to find and buy the right piece.

10. Space Utilization

  • Filling Empty Spaces: Some people buy art to fill empty walls or to balance the design of a room, making it feel complete or more visually interesting.

All these factors interact differently depending on the individual's needs and context, but they offer a broad view of what drives people to buy wall art.

Finding the Art you choose to live with

When you moved out of your parent's home, you landed on an empty nest even after all of your furniture was in place. Why? You saw empty walls.

That was your first awareness that it's nearly impossible to live in a cave regardless the quality of furnishings and paint colors. So you set out to find art most likely at a reasonable price point. But where did you find these pieces? Too many of us selected cheaply printed photography or graphic hangings. At least we had art on the walls. After awhile we began thinking about our choices. It is this time, this entry to that awareness that we always truly wanted more than that. We wanted art for art's sake. Remember that phrase? It is true. But as true is we want art that we can choose to live with for extended periods of time. Art that speaks to us. Warms our hearts, engages flashes of memories, or excites our senses with the art. When we look at the art we've chosen, we should be able to see what we wish to, hear the splash of the waterfall, smell the rose, hear the wind through the canyons, and trees, and feel the warmth of sun on the rocks or our hair. Even touch the smooth flower petals, or the raspy bark of a Eucalyptus, pine, fir or cherry tree.

We don't merely want a pic of an object, we want to smell it, feel it, and we want that to last. That means the photography art has to be special enough to be able to last for more than a month or so. We are choosing in essence a companion to our moods in our homes. So rather than heading back to an all-in-one-store, perhaps we begin the journey online looking at art that rewrites our gratification needs, some of which are heartfelt, some humorous, and some outrageously energizing.

Find the Red Maple on Fire in the Rain at my Photo Art Site

Just for the fun of it, I challenge you to locate a Maple tree on Fire in the Rain

Awhile back I was out shooting when a brief, if somewhat heavy pattering of rain hit, and I had no choice other than to shoot this maple tree. Later as I looked it over using Affinity Photo software, I decided to dance it up a bit. So I spent the better part of 3 hours using several photo editing tools and layers trying my best to make this a standout image that some would end buying, and hanging on their wall. I have used it, and I have gifted it for birthdays and Christmas, as gifts. It's one of my favorites from a sense of impact and tranquilness. It simply works for me and I hope you enjoy the fun getting there.

Obviously I wont share a pic of it so it will be a fun escape from the norm just to see how long it takes to find it, and trust it's not that hard. If you will, add a comment and let me know

Here's another that might take a little longer, a grimy face of a blue collar worker. The essence of an American work force member.

And just for another challenge, see if you can hang the following image to your wall, Grand Oak Tree
