Catch a Rufus in Mid Flight

.

Catching a Hummingbird in stop-action can be a task well left for a DSLR camera body rather than a cell phone. Try it and you'll see for yourself its a frustrating experience. And we all thought cameras and top end cell phones, like Android's as well as the Apple top end models, could handle this. But they simply aren't yet there.

You can buy a DSLR camera and lens for less than a top cell phone and catch the photo you see here, and so much more.

So why are we so fascinated with our excessively expensive cell phones?  Because they do a lot more than a DSLR camera body and lens. However when it comes to grabbing shots that can be configured to take an impressive print, we are still going back to our camera bodies.

I have no doubt that it will only be a matter of time when this will be possible, but for now don't get rid of your camera, in fact perhaps even upgrade to a better model with features that can ensure even better image captures.

I'm by no means casting doubt about cell phones, but hey its Spring. Go out and take some great pics, then work on them by editing for a great wall print and celebrate the humble camera again.

Here's one example to try. Shoot those Hummingbirds all around you during this time of year. And learn how to capture that stop-action image.

Can you help explain how camera's can get these shots? Thanks for reading Shooting Outside
