The Healing of Art

Art, that which hangs on our walls, sits on our mantels
and our dressers, is what can heal us.....

If we looked at what we choose to try healing our minds, our hearts, and our souls with, we would find that our paths wander around all sort of medicines, diets, routines of exercise and drinks, and dozens more that only give us a temporary fix.

But when we sit with a friend, or are quietly alone, we discover that the art on our walls, and the thoughts generated as we gaze at them, have a profound effect on our healing, each and every time we spend a moment with these pieces, and those moments of healing last longer and longer the more often we spend time with them. If you cannot recall the moments of exuberance or calm, when gazing at the art on your walls, perhaps its time you did.

Art has always held a very long lasting effect that tends to re-center ourselves in times of hope and joy, sadness and grief, energetic and thrilling times as we wander through our lives. I have been surrounding myself with art all of my life, having learned the value ion it, from a very early stage in life from my close and my extended families. And when I learned how to enhance the natural around me I found I don;t have enough room in my home for all I want to hang.

So I found that filling a spare closet, or a bedroom, with treasured pieces allowed me to dismount one for another. But even if we don't have that luxury of space, and most of us don't, we can still replace ones that never were the art that healed us. And if we choose to find art which has that healing sense, to find it in places, like my site, instead of much more expensive websites, we can own more of the variety.

Healing ourselves is a daily meditative source, don't ignore it. As it is vastly more helpful than spending countless hours devouring social websites which aren't healing us

Let me know what you think, after you think this over
